Question About EL71 Battery Lifetime

| Hello, I'm really interesting with last Siemens track before it's bankrupt. Two model were E71 and EL71, both were wanted far here in my country. Straightly, some of my friend need advice about EL71, how about it? After read some opinions in the internet, lot of users said, it had bad battery, some people said it's to short, and dramatically some said, it's just dead just like that, and won't turn the handset on anymore.  Please if anyone can help this question, and also considering wheter there are replacement battery for EL71, some non-original one i mean. Thanks

| Yes, battery cycle of EL71 is short, and it's a pity. My EL71 with practically nothing being done, just 2 calls per day and all the other time being in the "Keypad blocked" condition, stands for only 2-2,5 days (E71 in such usage stands for 3-4 days). It means, that while you use it more active, for example, not only calling, but additional 2 hours of java or listening music, in the end of the day or even earlier it'll be totally out of energy... And that's the main reason, why I first bought E71 and use it mainly.
Batteries for EL71 are very rare goods, really hard to find in Russia. On the other hand, for E71 you can use some Nokia batteries after a little modification (they're one millimeter fatter, than BenQ-Siemens original), you won't need to search long to find them.

| What a pity, thanks Pauls, finnaly i have just to say NOT RECOMMEND it. Btw, about Nokia batteries for E71, what's the type?

| BL-4C fits E71 perfectly. It is sold with 650, 720, 760 mAh
Live picture in E71
and you may try BL-5C, but it's a bit too fat, there you should make "some mechanical modifications" with your phone and a battery itself.
While using these accumulators E71 may display their energy capacity wrong. On the picture below the battery is fully charged, but the phone shows, that it is only 60%. It's a bug.

No, it's a mistake, battery is fully discharged on that picture, not fully charged.

| My friends curious with these modification, is it possible to implement this method on his EL71, does anyone had a clue?

| Sadly, would be failed getting E71. Instead of it i will get EL71, prepare worriying about it's battery performance. I'm wonderring, is there any alternative spare part like non official battery with more mAh capacity than it's original one? Does anyone had any answer? Thx

| I don't know is it real or not. If you'll buy it, tell us please  I've never heard of dead batteries, it's just have too small capacity on EL71... 550?
E71 has 730mAh.
